Bringing your party of traders/adventurers on the local Baron's pay-roll/feudal oath to a not explored collapsed dwarf mine for some trade goods to bring back to home base and bumping into tunneling Agartha on accident and having a quick scuffle, but then unearthing a horror monument and having to escape with just your lives. Now Trade and Taint sounds real neat still, an actual rogue-like in in the Dominions/Conquest universe is just ripe for story and gameplay. If Illwinter made a space game though I would still buy it, purely because Illwinter made it. Sadly I just get real bored of space games and I don't even know why. I am also kinda hoping Illwinter will someday release a space themed game with focus on designing and editing spacecrafts and other space ships with weapons and other modules to handle simulated space combat, not to mention trade and taint as I really would like to see more Dominions themed roguelike games. Illwinter games is without a doubt my favorite video game company, indie or otherwise. Looking forward to this and it will be an insta-buy from me as soon as it comes out. Originally posted by Nick:While I was hoping for about five new factions to play with (to match the 5 part of Conquest of Elysium 5), that is just me being greedy. Would also give a greater sense of progression. It would give more reason to defend and fight over towns and other trade point locations. Would be so much better being able to use my trade power. Every 1 trade point added to a resource buys/sells X amount per turn/month. It could be something similar to the Dominions 4 research screen where research is allocated per school of magic.Ī trade menu with a list of available resources and adding your trade points to either buy or sell them. Other than the trade I'm very excited for COE5 This! A new trade UI where it would be possible to allocate where the trade poitns are going would be really nice. Maybe I want to buy more iron than the over price or perhaps I want to sell lots of iron while buying lots of gems or another resource at the same time. In COE4 it doesn't matter how many trade points you have, you can only trade one resource and don't really get too much control of how much you buy or sell. I'm looking forward to the new features but, trade was always a little to simplified for me. Your hands will be full before you even make contact with the enemy.Originally posted by KingJeb7843:Has trade been improved? It's the only thing you have not mentioned in the description. In addition to the aggressive wildlife of Elysium there's also random events to contend with, from bumper harvests and bandits, to the very gates of the underworld opening into Elysium. Often considered one of the stronger classes. More rituals and spells can be learned during the game if you have the right resources and find the right locations. Let's Play Conquest of Elysium 5: Necromancer Part 1 - YouTube In this new series for Conquest of Elysium 5, we finally tackle the Necromancer. Most factions start with a random set of rituals, a random set of combat spell and together with the random map that will ensure that no two games are the same. But they continue to run in the background and can make certain actions or random events more exciting. Although there are many planes now you will only rarely have to visit them. Although extremely difficult it is possible to permanently destroy a demon lord by storming inferno and slaying it on that plane. Banishing a devil will now force it back to inferno instead of slaying it permanently. So if a demonologist manages to summon a demon lord, there will suddenly be a dark citadel without its master in inferno. There is for instance an Infernal plane that is the home of the devils and the demons. New for the 4th version of Conquest of Elysium is the addition of different planes, many new rituals, monster descriptions, a completely new battle system, new random maps with varying temperatures and much more. With 20 different factions that alone is enough to keep your play dynamic as you vie for control of the map to conquer Elysium. Perhaps you're a dwarf, who's only concern are mines and produce units at a set rate every turn, focused almost entirely on upgrading those units to survive as long as possible since they are so difficult to replace. Perhaps you're playing a druid, focused on amassing a vast forest and jungle empire from which to harvest ingredients to summon creatures of the woods with no practical need to conquer mines. We're not talking about a unique building and unique unit, we're talking about completely differently, with different mechanics and different goals. The main focus in CoE4 is that each race plays differently. There are also a huge number of factions, each with its own unique gameplay and magic rituals. The game is full of depth, details and monsters. Conquest of Elysium 4 is a quick turn based fantasy strategy game with a touch of rogue-like.
